Found an abandoned car in the forest – was scared for his life when he approached the car!

As he strolled through the woods near his home, Allan came across an old junk car. But there were recent prints around it and she located her daughter’s favorite doll within. Then somebody approached him shockingly close. Allan resided in Hood River, Oregon, and enjoyed strolling for hours through the forests near his residence. Picked cherries and observed birds as much as possible. It calmed him, and although it was a solitary pursuit, he felt less isolated in the forest than in his house.

But one afternoon, while on a walk, he stumbled upon a new trail that took him to a deserted car in the forest. That was odd. This was far from safe territory for the road. But the car appeared old and battered. It had been there for years, for sure. He still went up to her since he was curious for some reason. He saw that there were new tracks around it, and perhaps someone really did live in that car.

A few feet away from the car were a pair of shoes, clothing and what was left of a fire. “Yeah, definitely someone lives around here,” he nodded and peered into the car for a closer look. He was on his way to leave, head home and report this to the police. But he noticed something. There was a doll inside the car. Normally this would not be an issue. But this toy stood out.

Discovering the fresh traces

It wasn’t from a shop, and only one person in the entire world would have it: Susan’s daughter. It was her doll. His ex-wife, Laura, had made it particularly for their daughter. She even had a name tag with Susan’s name and address on it in case she lost it since their little girl liked to carry it everywhere. “But why is he here? ” Allan asked in utter shock.

Their breakup was not lovely, and Laura was given full custody of their child. Allan did not want to hurt his child by battling for further visitation and taking her mother to court, so he agreed and attempted to live with his life again, knowing that Laura was at least a fantastic mother. They resided in Seattle so it was a little far from them. Laura maintained their home and they were meant to live happily ever after there. But did anyone steal her daughter’s doll? What occurred?

Allan’s worrying thoughts

He attempted to open the car door, which was slightly jammed, but managed to do so and scooped up the doll. He verified that it was Susan’s toy due to the tag and glanced around the woods, lost. What happened to his daughter? Why hadn’t Laura called him? Allan peered into the car, searching through the grimy and trashy contents of it, but paused as he heard a voice.

“Where are you going?” a woman’s voice startled him, but he knew at once who it was: Laura. Allan got up from the car and stared at his former wife, holding their daughter’s hand tightly. They were messy, and Laura was close to being frightened. But the child distracted him from his former wife’s face, for she saw him and shouted, “Daddy!” and ran to hug him.

“Laura, what’s happening here?” Allan said after standing up again. She glanced around, appearing to be embarrassed, and addressed Susan directly. “Honey, why don’t you get into the car for a moment? I need to discuss something with daddy.” Their daughter did so and Allan closed the door of the car softly as he got in, then glared at his wife. “Okay, what’s happening?” he asked once more, his hands raised somewhat to his sides.

Laura pursed her lips, folded her arms, and her face reflected a profound pain Allan had never witnessed before. This was not the strong but obstinate woman he knew. Something was amiss with her and she needed to be aware of it. “Laura, you know you’re always secure with me. We’re divorced, but you’re the mother of my child.”. Tell me, please,” Allan soothed, talking softer so Susan wouldn’t be able to hear anything. At last, he spoke. “My boyfriend… well, ex… the one I left you for… changed once we were married. It was hell.”.

“But I welcomed him in. Disaster. Well, he kicked us out of the house, and we’ve been here for a couple of weeks now.” Allan put up a frustrated hand to his forehead. “What? He kicked you out? How can that be? Did you call the police?” “He threatened me and Susan, so I had to leave right away.”. I didn’t care about our things,” continued Laura, tears streaming down her face.

Unanswered questions

“I was embarrassed, okay?” she wept softly. “I didn’t want to call you, especially after we broke up after I met him. And I was so mean to request full custody of Susan. I had no idea how to confront you. I was such a fool. I apologize, Allan.” He hugged her hard. Susan spotted them and opened the door to hug.

Inspecting the car

Allan made a choice then while cradling these women in his arms. They were never going to be alone any more. So he brought them home and called a lawyer, who organized for the police to take Laura’s husband away from their property. They also filed for divorce. Once they had finished with that tricky process, Laura decided to sell the house since it was too full of sad memories. She had done too much wrong there in her life to maintain it.

Family reunion

In addition, Allan promised to let her stay with him as long as she needed. She almost daily apologized and resumed sewing dolls. She sewed one that was her exact duplicate and one that was his duplicate, marking the names on each. Susan adored them and kept the three together always, representing their reunited family. Later, Allan and Laura spent so much time together that they fell in love all over again and got married again. Susan was the flower girl at the wedding. Their family would never be parted again.
