The Travel Tips You Never Heard About

Traveling is fun, yeah! But some of the blunders easily spoil your trip, just like, using healthy tips make you enjoy the best of your travel experience. They normally tell you about planning, reserving, packing, getting ready, destinations, activities, communication, means of transport in the country, accommodation, the rest. But what don’t they inform you of? Among some of the tips are how to behave, and what to do in some situations. Take a look at these 15 travel tips and I’m certain there’s a travel tip here you never heard of.

1/15. Be an early bird

Firstly, this is not a city you are familiar with so it’s crucial that you begin your day early enough to enable you to get the full attention of locals as you question them. Moreover, you can shy away from too much tourist throng that bewilder you and take time to absorb the atmosphere and even grab some awesome selfies. Being punctual is a priceless travel tip.

2/15. Carry important items along

There are certain things that should never part with your person when you find yourself in a foreign location. For example, phone, tablet, laptop, and all other computer equipment and accessories such as earphones, chargers, chords, etc. You should also, at all times, keep with you your passport, flight documents, cash, debit and credit cards, and other crucial financial or travel documents. This travel tip isn’t over yet – take with you all medication prescribed (if any), or any medication you traveled with, such as a supplement, vitamin pill, allergy pill or pain medication. Finally, don’t forget other useful and priceless items like jewelry or that perhaps something special your significant other purchased for you or something you use to commemorate your deceased mother by. That is why, most of the times, it’s better not to carry much and in case you did, have a backpack with you that you can take everywhere.

3/15. Take things slow

This travelling tip is for hot bloods. Realize today that you can’t experience an entire country in a single trip – unless you are going to be there for months to years. So, relax and appreciate what you can right now. Don’t be in a rush to appreciate everything at once or go every at once. Even if it was just one destination you went to, make it worth it. Absorb all the wonderful recollections your time allows you, and maybe next time, return again and have some more.

4/15. Be self-guided

The Telegraph

I am aware that this travel tip is ironic as I did an entire article on apps every traveler should have so that you’re properly guided, but not what I mean here. By all means don’t dismiss guide provider’s guidance entirely but don’t let it totally dictate your experience. It’s fine to attempt new things, go to strange destinations and meet interesting new individuals but don’t do it because it’s what all the cool kids are doing or because somewhere has a 5-star review. Don’t forget that what floats somebody else’s boat may not buoy yours. Sit down and go through all the advice and recommendations and choose the activity or site that will provide you with the greatest experience based on what your inner animal craves – be self-guided!

5/15. More digital storage

Cheap Flights

A valuable travel secret is snap, snap, snap! Take videos and photos of everything! That’s why you will require additional digital storage, either cloud storage, external drives or a second memory card for your digital camera. Besides looking back on your memories and experiences, you might inadvertently step into a side career. This is because, some of the videos and images of the landscapes and culture can be sold for some good money. Or maybe, they can liven up what will be the best adventure blog (yours naturally!), which you can earn money from.

6/15. Always use the bathroom

The Guardian

Even if there’s the ‘Sit or Squat’ app, why wait until it is hell in your bowels? Use this travel tip and you shouldn’t be worried about restroom emergency. If you always go to the restroom at every opportunity, even when you do not have to go, you’re still clearing space to withstand pressure when needed. And when an emergency occurs and a bathroom can’t be located, your bladder will be freezing while everyone else is receiving the runaround.

7/15. Be open-minded

Never go to a country with judgmental thinking because two-thirds of what the media is saying is sheer horseshit. Be open-minded about other cultures, religions, ideologies and never be scornful about others. Don’t stick to what you are familiar with, be willing to learn something new and to look at things from other people’s perspectives. Love debating and arguing with others without being rude and arrogant. Listen, think and above all, laugh – it’s a medicinal travel suggestion.

8/15. Be mindful of misleading restaurants

As I just implied in the travel tip above, disregard what you presumed you knew! If you’re the sort to be touched by photographs of food, understand today, that the photographs doesn’t depict what will be served, nor does it ensure that the food will be delicious. Such photographs are nothing but what it is – an advertisement and client attraction tactic.

9/15. Beware of over-planning

Magica Tripod

The manner of traveling these days, it’s nearly losing its flavor. There are so many agencies, aids and apps available that by the time one departs to a travel destination, s/he has already scheduled each activity of each day from welcome to goodbye. That is not a healthy way to experience the wanderlust life, and even when planning, keep some windows of opportunity open to the surprise. With this travel advice, you have no idea what you will find yourself doing that you never intended.

10/15. Always have on a power source

Power banks are also available now, courtesy of technology. And in fact, let’s take this travel tip to the next level by saying – have a power source with multiple outlets or even two power sources. That way, you don’t have to fear any of your devices running out. And more, you only need to charge the power source in public. Your devices get to stay with you. And so, even if there is a theft incident, it’s your power bank that is stolen and not your phone which is clearly more valuable.

11/15. Don’t be cashless

TransferWise

Yes, we’re in a cashless society – that’s fine if you’re at home. But, you don’t need to be somewhere far away and begin to have card issues. If your card get lost, stolen or eaten by the machine, what will you do? More so, if there is a timing issue with your account, or network issue from your back, what will you do? This cash travel tip is the best tip you can ever have.

12/15. Split your cash

Besides the cash travel tip, don’t keep all your eggs in one basket is what they used to say. Keep some money in your sock, in your inner shorts pocket, in various pockets of your bag, or stashed in various mysterious spots. Heck! – Stash some in your bra if you prefer, just don’t keep all your cash in one spot. Even more so, don’t keep all your money in other places, keep some with you, since wallets, purses and bags are easy to be stolen anywhere on earth.

13/15. Use a pen and paper

Relax Focus Enjoy

A critical traveling advice we all overlook is overdependence on technology. Even when your battery doesn’t run out, there are still situations where your technological gadget will let you down. Therefore, if you know what is best for you not to be completely stranded, jot down all relevant information; contact numbers, addresses, hotel booking, etc.

14/15. Oral hygiene

A Frame Around Infinity

I’m not referring to your toothbrush, I’m referring to your water bottle. Most cities have fluorine in their tap water which is critical to your dental health. Buying bottled water on a consistent basis isn’t just costly, but it’s not all that ideal on a regular basis. With the travel tip for your water bottle, you can have fresh water from the faucet at all times when you need a drink and bring with you to have later.

15/15. Try the local food

The Zero Boss

It’s always so easy to locate the closest McDonalds and feed yourself to obesity, but you won’t die if you sample some of the local food. It’s more affordable and you’re immersing yourself in some culture with this food travel tip. Furthermore, if you are traveling to a city, why not sample everything they live in – including the local food. Yes, sometimes it is appalling and even makes your stomach turn – but at least it’s an experience and every experience (good or bad) is still an experience.
